First aircraft flight.

16.10.1924

First aircraft to land in Sarawak.

1947

Formation of The Civil Aviation Department Headquarter in Singapore covering Malaya and British Borneo.

1953

Formation of The Civil Aviation Malaya and Singapore. Singapore covering British Borneo.

01.09.1955

Formation of The Department of Civil Aviation and Meteorological Services British Borneo Territories (Sabah, Sarawak, Brunei and Labuan) Headquartes at Jesselton (Kota Kinabalu).

16.09.1963

Formation of Directorate of Civil Aviation, Malaysia. Both Sarawak and Sabah come under one Regional II Office Headquarter in Kota Kinabalu. To operate Borneo Airspace known as Kota Kinabalu Flight Informaion Region (KK FIR).

01.01.1989

Formation of Region III Office for Sarawak and Region II Office for Sabah, but ATC operation still headquarter in Kota Kinabalu as Parent Air Traffic Control Center (ATCC) for KK FIR.

01.11.1992

Corporation of Airport Services of The Department of Civil Aviation Malaysia.
Formation of Malaysia Airports Berhad (MAB).
