About Us

Department of Civil Aviation Malaysia is an organisation in the Ministry of Transport Malaysia administering the activities of the aviation industry.

These activities include basically the transportation of passengers, mail and cargo from and into the airspace of Malaysia.

The Department of Civil Aviation Malaysia Region III: Sarawak is a government agency responsible for providing Air Traffic Services, enforcement of Airport Standards, planning and supervising the development of Air Traffic Control System and airport facilities within Sarawak.

 

 

Airspace

DCA Region III | Sarawak Airspace
  • Part of Kota Kinabalu Flight Information Region. (KK FIR)
  • Approximately 200,000 sq. km (Sarawak area of responsibility)
  • Length approximately 470 NM forms SABIP/NIMIX to Sabah/Sarawak boundry.
  • Area Control Center (ACC) at Kuching.
  • Aerodrome/Approach Unit at Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu, Miri and Limbang.
  • Flight Information Services (AFIS) at Mulu and STOL airfield.
  • Search and Rescue (SAR) Sub-Center at Kuching.

 

Airport and airfield

  • International: Kuching (A380/B747/DC10/A330/B777)
  • Domestic: Miri, Sibu and Bintulu (B737/A320 Operation). Limbang and Mulu (F50 Operation).
  • STOL(Short Take-Off and Landing) Aerodrome: Marudi, Lawas, Mukah, Belaga, Bario, Long Seridan, Long Lellang, Long Banga, Ba’Kelalan and Long Akah.
  • Heli-Pad: More than 300 landing location used by Flying Doctor Services and timber operation.
  • Private/Mission Airfield: Over 20 (all none operational)
