| 01 September 1955 | Formation of The Department of Civil Aviation and Meteorological Services British Borneo Territories (Sabah, Sarawak, Brunei and Labuan) Headquartes at Jesselton (Kota Kinabalu). |
| 16 September 1963 | Formation of Directorate of Civil Aviation, Malaysia. Both Sarawak and Sabah come under one Regional II Office Headquarter in Kota Kinabalu. To operate Borneo Airspace known as Kota Kinabalu Flight Informaion Region (KK FIR). |
| 01 January 1989 | Formation of Region III Office for Sarawak and Region II Office for Sabah, but ATC operation still headquarter in Kota Kinabalu as Parent Air Traffic Control Center (ATCC) for KK FIR. |
| 01 November 1992 | Corporation of Airport Services of The Department of Civil Aviation Malaysia. Formation of Malaysia Airports Berhad (MAB). |
